A brand repositioning case study for one of Manila’s most exclusive integrated resorts.
Okada Manila carried a reputation that kept everyday Filipinos at arm’s length. It was widely seen as a resort built for the elite and for foreign tourists, not a place local families would consider for a weekend trip. When the lockdowns began in 2020, Okada lost 95% of its guest base almost overnight, exposing just how narrow its market had always been.
Losing foreign guests simply exposed the underlying issue. Okada’s positioning had always leaned on exclusivity, which meant it had never built a real relationship with the market already right outside its doors: Filipino families in Metro Manila.
We moved Okada’s storytelling away from luxury for luxury’s sake and toward the everyday moments Filipino families already valued: weekend getaways, milestones, and small indulgences. Instead of positioning Okada as a destination to admire, the campaign positioned it as a destination to actually visit.
The campaign rolled out as a four-part video series, each one built around a different family occasion at Okada: a milestone celebration, a weekend escape, a reunion, and an everyday treat. The films leaned on real, relatable scenarios rather than five-star spectacle, making the resort feel reachable instead of aspirational.
